Local High School Choirs to be heard in Festival April 26

For the 24th year, the Los Angeles Master Chorale will present its free High School Choir Festival at Walt Disney Concert Hall at 1:00 p.m. on April 26.

Local high schools will again participate in the festival as choirs, with some choir members also joining the Festival Honor Choir which will combine performers from the Chorale’s professional ranks to be conducted by Los Angeles Master Chorale …

Bassist Tom Peters Wins Praise at Toronto Silent Film Festival

Last weekend double bassist Tom Peters travelled to Canada to perform the world premiere of his latest silent film score, the 1928 silent film “The Passion of Joan of Arc”. Peters was invited to play his score at the Toronto Silent Film Festival with fellow chamber musician Joelle Morton, a violonist who is on the faculty at the University of Toronto where the film was screened. In a second two-night performance, Peters and Morton travelled to Ottawa to repeat the gig.
