Thoughts of returning to school this fall may be swirling in some of our neighbor’s minds, but it is still
summertime for the City of Arcadia’s Thursday night 2008 Summer Concert series. Three concerts remain on the schedule: Juke Box Heroes on Aug. 7; Mrs. Murphy’s Chowder on Aug. 14 and Nannett and Her Hotsy Totsy Boys on Aug. 21.
Right now we focus on Juke Box Heroes, five guys who bring back memories of the music of the 1950′s by singing the songs of Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley.
Juke Box Heroes at Arcadia’s Summer Concert Thursday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m.
Holly is considered one of the most influential musicians of the mid-century era as he introduced simple, singable and danceable tunes to a booming teen-age population.
Arcadia’s 2008 Summer Concerts are at 7 p.m. on the City Hall West lawn, 240 W. Huntington Dr., Arcadia. Picnicking encouraged. Parking in the City Hall parking lot. Admission is free.
