20th Season for Glendale Youth Orchestra
Putting music as an enriching experience is only one of the goals of the Glendale Youth Orchestra. Its mission encompasses children ages six through 12, giving them an opportunity to play classical music with the hope that the young folks will have a life-long appreciation of arts and cultural traditions.
The Glendale Youth Orchestra was founded in 1989 by a group of Glendale music lovers and school teachers. Now, with its 20th year ready to begin, a concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 at the Alex Theatre, Glendale.
The program, conducted by Brad Keimach, will include Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Overture to “Coriolan”, Richard Wagner’s tone-poem “Siegfried Idyll”, “Hoe-Down”, a part of the ballet “Rodeo” by Aaron Copland, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 in F-major.

Brad Keimach is a graduate of the Julliard School, New York, and holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the Purchase Conservatory of the State University of New York. Keimach will conduct all the concerts, now scheduled for March 17 and June 2, 2009.

All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and are held at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Tickets are $9.50, general admission; $5.50 for students, children and seniors.
