The Crown City Symphony with guest conductor Robert McCormic will present three concerts, 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 29 at the Pasadena Public Library, Pasadena; 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena; and 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at the First Baptist Church of Pasadena.
The program will include Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 in C-major, Slavonic Dances No. 1, 4 and 8 by Antonin Dvorak and Aram Khatchaturian’s Violin Concerto with guest artist, violinist Dr. Svetlana Oganesian.
McCormac has been an educator and musician in Southern California for the past 40 years. He studied conducting under Dr. Richard Lert, an early conductor of the Pasadena Symphony.
Ms. Oganesian holds a bachelors degree in violin from the Tchaikovsky Special Music School in Yerevan, a Masters and Doctorate from the Yerevan State Conservatory in Armenia as well as Doctor of Musical Arts from New York State University at Stony Brook. She now resides in La CaƱada Flintridge.
