Burbank Philharmonic Star Spangled Salute July 4

file-foto-anne-lee-violinist-burb-phil-july-4-2009The Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra will present an Independence Day Star Spangled Salute to America, well, when else, July 4 with gates opening at the Starlight Bowl, Burbank, at 6:00 p.m., entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks a 9:00 p.m. Steven Kerstein, conductor and music director will lead his orchestra in music from “My Fair Lady”, “The Music Man”, “William Tell” Overture, “Carmen Fantasy”, music from the Big Band era, Sousa marches and, he promises, more. Soloists will be Anne Lee, violin, and Athena Mertes, soprano. The opening act for the evening will be the Swing Kings.
Ticket prices range from $10 (grass picnic area) to $20 (lower reserved seating). Discounts for seniors and students available. Parking is $5, cash only. Shuttle service up the steep hill to the Starlight Bowl will be made available for those needing assistance.
