Los Angeles Chamber Singers Celebrate Henry VIII’s Coronation

file-foto-henry-viii-for-la-chamber-singers-2009Grammy Award winners, Los Angeles Chamber Singers’ Cappella , promise an evening of rich, intimate and varied collection of Tudor music from the 16th century in celebration of the 500th anniversary of the coronation of Henry VIII which took place on June 24, 1509 in a program entitled, “The Musical Legacy of Henry VIII. Their local appearance is at 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 5 at Oneonta Congregational Church, 1515 Garfield Ave., South Pasadena.
The program will include the music of John Sheppard, Robert Parsons, John Fayrfax, William Bryd and Thomas Tallis. Capella performs in period vocal style. Performers in the Cappella Chamber Singers group include Karen Hogle Brown, Rich Brunner, Pablo Cora, Amy Fogerson, Scott Graff, AliceKirwin Murray, Mary Jo Wiedey and Daniel Wilson. Conductor of the group is Peter Rutenberg.
