Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra Young Artists

Jingfu Peng, pianist; Kyle Gilner, violinist; Ben Penzner, violist; Lydia Bundy, cellist; and Mason Yu, pianist are the soloists in the Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra’s Young Artist’s Concert. 12 year-old Peng, a pupil of Roza Yoder, will perform a movement of the Grieg Piano Concerto in A-minor. Young, 18, a student of Louise Earhart, will play the Mendelssohn Piano Concerto in G-minor. Violinist Gilmer, 16 who studies with Sheryl Scheidemantle, and violist Penzner, 14, a student of Sharon Ray, will be heard in the first movement of the Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola by Mozart. Bundy, 18, a student of Stan Sharp, will perform the first movement of the Cello Concerto by Lalo.
Dr. Allen Gross is the conductor of the PSYCO.
The Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra concert is at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 3700 E. Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena. Admission is free.
