Southwest Chamber Music Summer Festival Concludes This Weekend

Southwest Chamber Music closes its Summer Festival at The Huntington Library this weekend, Aug. 22 and Aug 23 at 7:30 p.m. on the famed estate’s Loggia. The program includes Copland’s Sonata for Violin and Piano; Alexandra du Bois’ contemporary piece, “The Speaking Tide/Sun on Sea”; the final music for the season is the wonderful Schubert Quintet for Piano and Strings, known as the “Trout” quintet.
Musicians performing are Jim Foschia, clarinet; Lorena Gamma, violin; Jan Karlin, viola; Peter Jacobson, cello; Tom Peters, double bass; and Ming Tsu, piano.
Pre-concert dinners are available at The Huntington Tea Room, open exclusively to concert ticket holders. Reservations can be made when you place your concert ticket order. Dinners are $55, fixed price.
Tickets for Loggia seating are $45. Tickets for lawn seating are $28. The Huntington Library, Art Galleries and Botanical Gardens are in San Marino—the art gallery is open prior to the concert and during intermission. Information: (800) 726-7147.
