A birthday is a special day in anyone’s life. The Mexicans have a traditional tune that they sing, often before the birthday cake is cut. One of the best groups performing the traditional song, “Las Mañanitas” is Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, Jalisco, Mx.
Mariachi Vargas is one of Mexico’s oldest Mariachi groups and is now celebrating 5th generation members in this famous and well recorded group. Started in 1897 by Gaspar Vargas, the 13 members understand the musical spirit of their country more than most. Mariachi Vargas is a national treasure of Mexico.
