Music of Gernot Wolfgang at LACMA Sunday Live Oct 11

Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Sundays Live concert will present the music of Jean-Baptiste Loeillet, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Gernot Wolfgang this Sunday, Oct. 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Leo S. Bing Theater.
Gernot Wolfgang, an Austrian composer, now residing in Los Angeles is an active member of the film and TV music industry as a composer, arranger and orchestrator. In addition to his solid reputation here, Wolfgang continues to compose for clarinet combining other wind or string instruments in duos or trios. His often performed “Three Short Stories” for clarinet and bassoon will be heard at LACMA’s free Sunday concert with Michele Zukovsky, clarinet and Judith Farmer, bassoon. Farmer is a teacher at USC’s Thornton School of Music and principal bassoonist with the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra. Zukovsky is principal clarinetist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. USC Thornton School of Music faculty member Kevin Fitz-Gerald will join the ensemble in Loeillet’s Sonata in B Minor for clarinet, bassoon and piano; Beethoven’s Trio for piano, flute and bassoon; and Mendelssohn’s Concertpiece No. 2 in D minor for clarinet, basset horn and piano.
