Deepening Voices: Boys Sing a Different Tune
Recognizing the voice change in teen-aged boys, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus has brought Dr. Steven Kronauer, a noted singer, on board to launch a program reaching young men whose voices are changing from a treble range to deepening maturity.
Kronauer is said to have a keen understanding of youth of this age and vocal characteristics. He currently teaches voice at Cal State Long Beach following an assignment as head of voice and opera at UC Santa Barbara. He holds a doctoarate in Operatic and Choral Conducting from UCLA.
The LA Children’s Chorus program will be called the Emerging Voices Choir for boys. Open auditions are to take place in May. For more information on this choir please call (626) 793-4231.
