The Santa Cecilia Orchestra under the direction of music director/conductor Sonia Marie De Léon de Vega continues its special mission to serve the Latino community as it opens its 17th season at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 in Thorne Hall, Occidental College.
November 22, it turns out, is St. Cecilia Feast Day. Music’s patron saint will bring bright and colorful music to Thorne Hall with its program that includes music of Antonio Vivaldi, Ottorino Respighi and Modest Musssorgsky.
Vivaldi’s Concerto Grosso No. 11 in D-minor; Respighi’s “Pines of Rome” and Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” will be performed.
