Telluride, Co. Sells Skiing with Video
Once in a while a really good video shows up with some great music. Here is a video produced by Ben Knight to promote the skiing opportunities in Telluride, Co, an old mining town now the second-home of the pretty rich to the very rich located on the Western slope of the Colorado Rockies.
What makes this video special is the group Explosions in the Sky. Musicians Michael James on guitar and bass guitar; Chris Hrasky, drummer; Munaf Rayani and Mark Smith, guitars. They have a special modern way that, although they call it “post-rock” is in fact at the cutting edge of electronic music. By this post, I am hoping to embarrass them to reveal that they are well-trained musicians bringing classical music to the young hip crowd. They played in June of this year at the Hollywood Palladium.
The group’s spokesman, Chris Hrasky is from Rockford, Ill but the rest hail from Midland, Tx.
Consider this an early Christmas celebration.
