This is too much. But the the Carmelite Sisters are insistant that it is time for them to help inspire all of us in these difficult times through the inspiration of music.
“Times are dark, right now,” says Mother Regina Marie, “very tough, for so many people. They
get discouraged. We want people to know that we’re here for them. We are here to help.” Let the healing begin.
An evening of uplifting, spiritual music has been set for 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28 at the Madonna Hall Community Center in Duarte. The group has sung more or less privately for years under the direction of Sister Marie Estelle, OCD. Joining Sister Estelle for this special concert is James Drollinger, a 10-year member of the Los Angles Master Chorale, vocal contributor to several motion picture soundtracks, and serves as Director of Liturgy at St. Jerome Church in Los Angeles and Director of Liturgy and Music at St. Charles Borromeo Church in North Hollywood.
Guest artists will include Ralph Mohutsky, Victoria Strong Mohutsky and John Gilb.
Ralph Mohutsky and his wife, Victoria have been performing in musical theater for the past 20 years and both were recognized for their work with the San Gabriel Civic Light Opera. Ralph is currently at St. Luke in Temple City serving as music director. Victoria, a guitarist and pianist as well as singer, and husband Ralph have been performing as a duo for several years. John Gilb is a singer who has participated in and directed numerous chorales.
