Rose Chen, piano, Lars Hoefs, cello Play Music at Noon March 24

Rose Chen and Lars Hoefs, as part of the Blue Rose Trio, won the Strings Prize in the celebrated Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition in 2005. Although the trio is not performing, Chen and Hoefs will be at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church’s Wednesday Music at Noon at, when else, 12:00 p.m. on March 24. As a trio the ensemble has traveled widely and received wonderful reviews from listeners. Chen recently completed her doctorate on a full scholarship at USC’s Thornton School of Music. Hoefs, also a doctoral candidate at Thornton School of Music, has recently been appointed Assistant Principal Cellist of Orquestra Sinfonica Brasiliera.
The Pasadena Presbyterian Church is at 585 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. Admission is free.
