Central4 Chamber Ensemble to Debut Aug. 29 in Arcadia

Pianist Timothy Durkovic, cellist Paula Fehernbach, violinist Elizabeth Hedman and violist Michael Lieberman travelled to Guatemala City recently to perform. While there, they visited the Central Market. They were so taken by Mercado Central and the artistic handcrafts that they have taken the name Central4 – meaning the group’s mission is to perform both traditional and non-traditional music, and the piano quartet has four members. They debut at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Arcadia at 3:00 p.m. on Aug. 29 as part of the church’s Concert Series.
The inaugural program, entitled “The Viennese School” will include pieces by Mozart, Schumann, Mahler and Schnittke.
Tickets are $15. The Church of the Good Shepherd is at 400 W. Duarte Rd., Arcadia. Information: 562) 743-7271.
